Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 3 chicken breasts
  • 1 tbsp, heaped flour
  • 1 tbsp, heaped corn flour
  • ½ tsp salt and pepper
  • 100 g honey
  • 100 ml chicken broth
  • 1 tbsp vinegar
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce, light
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce, dark
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds
  • 3 tbsp oil for frying
  • 1 tbsp, heaped butter
  • 5 garlic cloves
  • 1 tbsp ginger root
  • ½ tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1 tsp, heaped cornstarch for binding

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

Cut the chicken breasts into cubes. Mix the flour, cornflour, salt, and pepper in a bowl and toss the chicken in it. Finely chop the garlic and ginger. For the sauce, combine the honey, chicken broth, vinegar, and soy sauce (light and dark) in a bowl. Heat the oil in a pan. Fry the chicken in batches until golden brown. Add the butter, ginger, garlic, and cayenne pepper, and toss the chicken in the melted butter for a few minutes. Then add the previously mixed sauce and sesame seeds, and bring to a boil briefly. If the sauce is too thin, mix the cornstarch with 2 tablespoons of cold water, add it, and bring to a boil again. Serve with rice.
