Asparagus with spicy cream cheese and wild garlic cream

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 1 kg asparagus
  • 150 g cream cheese mixed with finely chopped wild garlic
  • 150 ml chicken broth or vegetable broth
  • 100 ml white wine
  • 4 slices of ham (butcher’s ham / cooked ham)
  • 3 tbsp Parmesan
  • salt and pepper
  • Cayenne pepper
  • a little nutmeg

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes

Peel the asparagus and cook as usual, but not until completely tender. In the meantime, mix the wild garlic cream cheese with chicken broth and white wine in a bowl, adding more asparagus broth if desired. The liquid depends on the sauce fanatics. Season to taste, adding a little white sauce thickener or cream if desired. Place the asparagus in an ovenproof casserole dish, between which you can place the finely sliced ​​ham. Pour the cream over it and bake in a preheated oven at approximately 180°C for 25 minutes. Remove briefly, pour the liquid over the asparagus again with a spoon, top with the Parmesan cheese, and return to the oven for another 5 minutes. Baguette could be served as a side dish; we eat the dish on its own. It can also be enjoyed without the ham.
