Ingredients for 4 servings:
- 750 g Brussels sprouts
- 1 tsp salt
- 125 g bacon, streaky
- 4 sausages, raw, coarse or 500 g minced meat
- 300 g mushrooms, fresh
- 2 cups broth
- nutmeg
- salt and pepper

Working time approx. 50 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 10 minutes

Wash and trim the Brussels sprouts, then boil them in water with 1 teaspoon of salt for five minutes. Drain. Separately, dice the bacon and fry it in a little oil. Form the sausages or ground beef into small dumplings and add them. Halve or quarter the mushrooms and fry them as well. Deglaze with the broth, add the Brussels sprouts, season, and simmer gently until tender. Delicious with boiled potatoes or hearty farmhouse bread.
