Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 1 cauliflower
  • 250 g minced beef
  • 2 eggs
  • 3 tbsp breadcrumbs
  • 2 beefsteak tomatoes
  • 200 ml cream
  • 100 g cheese, grated
  • salt and pepper
  • nutmeg

Instructions

Working time approx. 25 minutes; Total time approx. 25 minutes

Clean and wash the cauliflower and boil it in salted water for 10 minutes. (IMPORTANT: Leave the cauliflower whole!) Make a meatball batter with the ground beef, 3 tablespoons of breadcrumbs, 3 tablespoons of water (instead of soaked bread rolls), 1 egg, 1 teaspoon of salt, and a pinch of pepper. Wash the tomatoes, remove the stems, and slice them. Whisk the cream with 1 egg and 1 teaspoon of salt, pepper, and nutmeg. Grease a baking dish and place the cauliflower in the center. Spread the meatball batter all around, then arrange the tomato slices on top. Pour the cream mixture over the dish, sprinkle with cheese, and bake in the oven at 200°C for about 20 minutes. Boiled potatoes or mashed potatoes are a good side dish.
