Baked summer fruit

Spread the love

Ingredients for 6 servings:

  • 750 g fruit (berries, plums, apples)
  • 4 tbsp sugar, maybe a little more
  • 175 g flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 50 g sugar
  • 120 g butter
  • 1 egg(s)
  • 125 ml milk

Instructions

Working time approx. 45 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 40 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 25 minutes

Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius. Rinse and trim the fruit, and cut it into bite-sized pieces. Steam hard fruits such as apples or pears with 2-3 tablespoons of water in a covered saucepan for about 5 minutes. Add a little sugar if desired, depending on the sweetness of the fruit. Do not pre-cook berries. Place the prepared fruit in a large, greased, ovenproof dish (or several small dishes). Mix the flour, baking powder, and sugar. Cut the butter into small pieces, add them, and knead in with your hands until crumbs form. Beat the egg and milk in a bowl with a fork and stir into the flour mixture. Pour the batter over the fruit and bake in the oven for about 30-40 minutes until golden brown.
