quick, easy and something different from the burger kitchen
Place the ground meat in a bowl. Add the egg, honey, salt, pepper, basil, and rosemary. Finely crumble the slice of toast. Finely dice the fresh tomato and add it to the bowl. Mix everything thoroughly until it forms a smooth meat dough and all the ingredients are well blended. Form the meat dough into 8 oval patties, about the thickness of a finger. Heat the olive oil in a frying pan and fry the patties thoroughly on each side. In the meantime, slice the hamburger buns in half, then halve them again so that each person ends up with two halves on their plate. Spread the herb curd evenly over the bottom halves and arrange the fresh basil leaves on top, creating a neat layer of basil. Thinly slice the gherkins and place them on top. Spread the top halves of the buns evenly with the tomato ketchup. Trim the onions and slice them into thin rings. Now that everything is prepared, the patties should be almost cooked through. Once this is the case, place a slice of Cheshire cheese on each patty and melt it in the pan at maximum temperature for 30 seconds. Carefully lift the patties from the pan using a spatula and place them on the bottom buns. Finally, arrange the onion rings on the melted Cheshire cheese and place the bun lids on top. To serve, divide the basil burgers so that each person has two halves on their plate. If you can’t tolerate raw onions or want to avoid them, you can let the onion rings cook in the pan until translucent, season with creamy balsamic vinegar and honey, and then add them to the burger instead of the raw onions.
