Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 6 tbsp oat flakes
  • 6 tbsp water
  • Salt
  • oil
  • Spices)

Instructions

Working time approx. 2 minutes; Total time approx. 2 minutes

Oat flakes with a twist

Combine 6 heaped tablespoons of oats and about 6 tablespoons of water in a microwave-safe bowl. The oats should be just moistened, but not dripping wet. Microwave on high for about half a minute. Remove from the microwave, fluff up immediately, and mix thoroughly. If desired, you can add a dash of oil to round off the flavor and reduce stickiness. Season to taste. Note: I use finely ground oats. Whole-grain oats may need a bit more water and cook a bit longer (not tested).
