  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 1 tbsp vanilla sugar

  • 300 g cream
  • 3 packs of fondant, one each in black, white and blue
  • some cornstarch
  • some water

Instructions

Working time approx. 3 hours; Rest period approx. 1 day; Cooking/baking time approx. 1 hour 15 minutes; Total time approx. 1 day 4 hours 15 minutes

for two baking tins, makes about 10 pieces, one cake brand fondant, cream cream

Preheat the oven to 180°C. For the dough, mix butter, sugar, eggs, rum, sour cream, vanilla sugar, and lemon zest until smooth. If desired, add pistachios and orange or lemon flavoring to taste. Mix the flour, salt, and baking powder and stir in. Divide between two identical baking pans and bake at 180°C for 60-75 minutes using conventional oven heating. Let cool. For the filling and coating, mix the cream with the cream powder according to the instructions. Spread between the layers and once around the cake. Smooth everything out to prevent bubbles or bumps in the fondant. Chill for at least 30 minutes, or preferably overnight, to allow the cream to set. For the decoration, roll out the black fondant to a thickness of approximately 3 mm. The fondant should be rolled out 5 to 10 centimeters wider at each point than the diameter of the cake. Use a little starch to prevent it from sticking to the work surface. Place on the cold cake and smooth it out. Chill. Roll out the blue and white fondant to a thickness of 3 mm. Cut out a circle each that is about 3 cm smaller than the cake. Cut into quarters and select the two best pieces from each. Mix the starch with water, making sure the ratio of starch to water is 1:2. Use a brush to spread a little of this glue onto the center of the cake and place the blue and white pieces on the cake in the BMW logo arrangement and let it dry. Use a knife or cookie cutters to cut out the 2.5 cm letters B, M and W and also use glue to place them on the cake. Chill until ready to serve, including any leftovers.
