  • 70 g sugar
  • 160 g butter, very soft
  • 3 egg yolks

Instructions

Working time approx. 35 minutes; Total time approx. 35 minutes

In a tall mug, mix the yeast with a little milk until smooth, add a little sugar, and let it rise for 10-15 minutes. Put the flour in a large bowl, knead it with the remaining milk, the remaining sugar, butter, salt, egg yolk, and the steam to form a nice yeast dough. Keep warm and let it rise for about 45 minutes. Grease a ring tin well, tear off 10-12 pieces of dough, place 1 teaspoon of jam in the center of each piece, and press the dough together. Roll the dough balls in melted butter and place them next to each other in the ring tin. Let it rise for another 15 minutes. Bake in a preheated oven at 170°C for 35-40 minutes. Once cooled, sprinkle with powdered sugar or drizzle with lemon glaze. The Buchteln taste best fresh.
