Celery and mushroom salad Japanese style

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 1 bunch of celery
  • 1 pack of mushrooms, brown (approx. 400 g) or
  • Mushrooms (shiitake)
  • 3 spring onions or
  • some onion(s), red
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce (e.g. Tamari)
  • 2 tbsp sesame oil, roasted
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar or
  • Vinegar (white wine vinegar) or
  • Apple cider vinegar
  • 1 pinch of chili
  • 1 tbsp sesame with sea salt (Gomasio)

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes

Finely chop the celery and mushrooms (mushrooms thinly, celery about 1/2 cm wide), then season with toasted sesame oil, tamari (or other soy sauce), rice vinegar (or apple cider vinegar), and a pinch of chili, and mix thoroughly. Let it sit for a while (5-10 minutes). Finally, stir in the freshly chopped spring onions or red onions, according to your taste, sprinkle with a little gomasio (sesame seeds with sea salt), and serve. As a vegetarian main course, the same amount is enough for two people.
