Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 4 tbsp vinegar (e.g. Balsamic vinegar)
  • 4 tbsp tomato ketchup
  • 4 tbsp sugar
  • 350 g meat from duck, chicken, turkey, beef, veal, lamb or pork
  • 350 g vegetables or fruit
  • 1 bag of rice
  • salt and pepper
  • Spice(s), of your choice

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

simple basic recipe with many variations

First, put the rice on the heat. Then, brown the meat in a large pan over high heat. Pour on the sauce made from vinegar, sugar, and ketchup. Finally, add the vegetables to the pan. I like to use half a duck with bamboo shoots. Chicken breast with pineapple or beef with peas are also popular. I’ve also made lamb with beans and turkey with apricots. For duck, I use balsamic vinegar and just 2 tablespoons of sugar, reduce the sauce more, and season with a dash of Worcestershire sauce. For chicken, I prefer white wine vinegar and add curry.
