Cream and Leek Vegetables

The perfect cream and leek vegetables recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 600 g Leek, cleaned
  • 3 Spring onion sticks
  • 1 tsp Clarified butter
  • 150 g Streaky bacon
  • 150 ml Water
  • 300 ml Cream
  • Pepper, salt, nutmeg
  • 10 g Food starch
  1. Cut the washed, cleaned leek into approx. 7 mm thin slices. Roughly dice the bacon. Clean the spring onions and cut into thin slices. Mix the cornstarch with a little water, have everything ready.
  2. In a saucepan, lightly fry the bacon in the clarified butter. Add spring onions and fry briefly. Then add the leek, stir well and immediately pour in the water and cream. Sprinkle in pepper, salt and nutmeg, bring everything to the boil once briefly. Then immediately stir in the starch and turn off the heat. If necessary, take the pot off the stove briefly until the stove top has cooled down a bit. Then the pot can be put back on. In any case, it must not boil after boiling, otherwise the leek will be too soft. Finally, season a little again and, if necessary, add seasoning.
  3. A side dish that is prepared super quickly …….. and still tasty …………….
