Diet without dairy products – these are the advantages

Avoiding milk and milk products such as butter, cheese, yoghurt and the like has a number of advantages.

Of course, you don’t have to rigorously and forever give up milk and dairy products. Just try dairy-free for a while and then decide which dairy products you want to keep eating.

  • In order for the transition to succeed, you must first gain an awareness of where milk and milk products are found. Therefore, take a close look and read the ingredients of processed products before you buy them.
  • It can be difficult, especially on the go. Because even if almost every café now offers its products with milk alternatives, vegan sandwiches, snacks or dishes are not available everywhere. In restaurants you can ask the waiter whether certain dishes contain milk.
  • Look for alternatives to butter, milk, yogurt, cheese, ice cream, chocolate, and other foods that you consume frequently and enjoy. Just try what you like and don’t lose heart if you don’t find the right product right away.
  • Be aware, however, that you may not be able to easily replace all foods. However, that shouldn’t be your goal either. Instead, try to change your diet overall so that you eat a balanced and varied diet.
  • Don’t beat yourself up if you find out that you can’t go completely without dairy products after all. It is enough if you reduce your milk consumption and in future use milk products from regional dairies where the animals are kept in a species-appropriate manner.
