Dried Peppers with Mozzarella on Lettuce

The perfect dried peppers with mozzarella on lettuce recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

Dried peppers

  • Dried peppers
  • Extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 pinch Sugar brown raw sugar
  • 1 Dried chilli
  • 1 Clove of garlic
  • 1 piece Rosemary sprig
  • Vegetable broth
  • ..

  • 60 g Buffalo mozzarella
  • 1 Handful Lettuce leaves
  • 3 Basil leaves
  • 3 Dried peppers
  • Onion rings red
  • Salt and pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Balsamic Crema Fig-Date
  • 1 teaspoon Freshly chopped pistachios

Dried peppers

  1. Let the peppers in vegetable stock with a pinch of sugar simmer gently for 10 minutes and then let it steep for another 10 minutes.
  2. Drain the peppers through a sieve and allow to cool. Put in a sealable jar with the chilli, garlic and a little rosemary and cover with olive oil. Let it steep for a week in a dark, cool place.

  1. Cut the mozzarella into slices. Place on a plate with the lettuce, basil, pistachios, dried paprika and onion rings. Drizzle some olive oil from the pickled peppers and balsamic vinegar. Season to taste with salt and pepper.
  2. A friend brought me the peppers from Sicily, but I’ve also seen them in Turkish supermarkets.
