Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 8 tsp cinnamon powder
  • 2 tsp clove powder
  • 2 tsp nutmeg, freshly grated
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • 1 tsp anise powder
  • 1 tsp ginger powder
  • ¾ tsp cardamom powder
  • 250 g wheat flour type 405
  • ½ pack of baking powder
  • 100 g butter
  • 50 ml milk
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 125 g raw sugar

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 25 minutes; Total time approx. 55 minutes

Simple but delicious Christmas cookies

The spice mix ingredients can be purchased as a complete set at drugstores or health food stores. Preheat oven to 170°C (350°F). Combine flour, butter, baking powder, 1 1/2 tablespoons of the spice mix, salt, and sugar. Add milk and knead the dough into a ball. Form small balls and place them on a baking sheet. Press the balls down slightly with a spoon. Bake the cookies in the oven for 20 to 25 minutes, until they are slightly hard.
