- some lemon peel, grated or vanilla

- 7 cups flour
- 1 ½ pkt. baking powder, mix with the flour
- 1 egg(s), beaten

Beat the sugar with the softened butter until fluffy. Gradually add the eggs and season with lemon zest or vanilla. Mix in the milk and flour and knead into a soft dough. Adjust the amount of milk or flour if necessary; the dough should be soft and easy to shape. Form into narrow, thin strips about 40 cm long. Fold each strip in half, turn it over, and press the two ends together to form rings. Place on a greased baking sheet, brush with egg, and sprinkle with almonds. Bake in the oven at approximately 180°C (top and bottom heat) for about 16-18 minutes. Place a red-colored, hard-boiled egg in the center. Cup capacity: 200 ml.
