Fish fingers shashlik with fries

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 15 fish fingers
  • 2 small bell peppers
  • 750g French fries
  • 1 tbsp oil
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • salt and pepper

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 40 minutes

One of my children’s favorite foods

First, let the fish fingers thaw a little. While they’re thawing, wash, deseed, and slice the peppers. Halve the fish fingers and thread them onto 8 skewers, alternating with the peppers. Repeat this process until all 8 skewers are ready. Place the skewers on a baking tray on one side of a sheet of baking paper, and the fries on the other side. Drizzle the skewers with oil and lemon juice and season with pepper. Preheat the oven to 175°C (fan/convection oven) and bake for about 20 minutes; this may take a little longer or less time, as not all ovens are the same. Turn both over halfway through cooking and season the fries with salt. Ketchup can also be added if you like.
