A traditional pastry specialty from Frankfurt am Main that has been known since the Middle Ages.

You’ll need a suitable cookie cutter or wooden mold. First, knead the marzipan with the sifted powdered sugar. While kneading, add rose water and lemon zest flavoring. Roll out the resulting marzipan mixture to about 1 cm thick on a floured surface. Now dust the cookie cutters or wooden molds with flour and press them onto the marzipan. If using a wooden mold, remove the mold and cut out the shape with a knife. Let the bread dry overnight. Bake the bread in an oven preheated to 150°C until light brown. Then just let it cool, and your delicious Frankfurter bread is ready!
