It’s even better if you grab green tea right away – it even protects against stomach cancer. The healthy effect of green tea is due to its particularly high content of antioxidants, which intercept the extremely dangerous so-called free radicals and render them harmless. Those who drink green tea are only half as likely to suffer from gastritis and stomach cancer as non-drinkers.

Watch out! The green tea should have a brewing temperature of 70 degrees Celsius and only steep briefly, otherwise, it will taste too bitter. Six teaspoons of tea per liter of water.

Oatmeal – the slimy home remedy for the inflamed stomach lining

Oatmeal has a similarly beneficial effect on gastritis as flaxseed. A tablespoon of oatmeal, chewed slowly and swallowed in small portions, swells up and forms a kind of mucus. This lies protectively over the esophageal and gastric mucosa. In addition, the flakes contain a lot of protein – and this in turn neutralizes excess stomach acid. Simply boil 20 g of oat flakes in ¼ l of water per plate (do not sweeten). With milk, yogurt, and cheese as a side dish, it is advisable to choose low-fat products.

Baking soda as an acid inhibitor in gastritis

A proven household remedy that most people always have in their cupboards at home is baking soda. Due to its high pH value, baking soda is the ideal acid inhibitor. However, care should be taken to ensure that baking soda (sodium bicarbonate) is used without chemical additives. Just take a teaspoon of baking soda and drink a glass of water afterward. You can also dissolve the baking soda in water. But beware: After eating, you may experience frequent belching.

Potato juice: natural home remedy for heartburn

Potato juice has a similar effect to baking powder. It also binds and neutralizes stomach acid. To make it, simply peel about 4 raw potatoes, put the potatoes in a juicer, and then drink the juice. Alternatively, you can also grate the potatoes into small pieces and pass the mixture through a sieve so that the juice runs out. When using, care should be taken to ensure the peel is removed cleanly as potatoes contain solanine, a toxic alkaloid. When consuming it, it is therefore also advisable not to drink more than one large glass or two small glasses throughout the day.
