Glazed turkey legs

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 4 turkey drumsticks (approx. 1.5 kg)
  • salt and pepper
  • 1 kg potatoes
  • 1 bunch of marjoram, alternatively dried
  • 4 apples, red-skinned
  • 4 tbsp honey
  • 4 tbsp mustard, hot
  • Fat for the drip pan

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Wash the turkey drumsticks, pat dry, and season with salt and pepper. Place the drumsticks on a greased roasting pan. Cook in a preheated oven at 225°C for about 20 minutes. Turn over after 10 minutes. Peel the potatoes and cut into wedges. Wash the marjoram, shake dry, and pick off the leaves. Set a few leaves aside for later sprinkling. Add the potatoes and marjoram to the turkey drumsticks and season with salt. Reduce the oven to 200°C and continue cooking for about 30 to 40 minutes, turning the potatoes halfway through. Wash the apples, quarter them, and remove the cores. Cut the apples into wedges. Mix together the honey and mustard. 10 minutes before the end of the cooking time, brush the drumsticks with the honey mixture and mix the apples into the potatoes. Arrange the turkey drumsticks, apples, and potatoes in a dish and serve sprinkled with fresh marjoram leaves, if desired.
