Grandma's cinnamon stars

Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 190 g powdered sugar
  • 100 g almonds, ground
  • 200 g hazelnuts, ground
  • 2 egg whites
  • 1 tsp cinnamon powder
  • 1 dashes lemon juice

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 12 minutes; Total time approx. 42 minutes

Whisk the egg whites and powdered sugar until stiff. Set aside 1/3 of this and mix the rest with the other ingredients (but only 100g of nuts). Use a spoon, not a whisk, to mix well. Finally, knead thoroughly. Roll out the dough on top of the remaining nuts to a thickness of about 8-10mm and cut out stars. Place these on a baking sheet lined with baking paper and generously cover with the remaining egg white glaze. Bake the cookies at 150°C (top/bottom heat) for about 10-12 minutes. After 8 minutes, open the oven slightly with a wooden spoon for the remaining baking time.
