Green asparagus with black sesame

Spread the love

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 1 handful of asparagus, green
  • 2 tsp sesame, black
  • 1 tsp butter
  • ½ lemon(s)
  • salt and pepper
  • possibly water

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 10 minutes

traditional Japanese dish, slightly modified and extremely easy to cook

Grind half of the sesame seeds. Remove the bottom ends of the green asparagus and cut the asparagus into thirds. Sauté with melted butter, whole sesame seeds, and a pinch of pepper and salt over low to medium heat until the asparagus is cooked through. If the asparagus is getting a bit too brown, add a little water. Then mix with the ground black sesame seeds. Season with plenty of lemon juice. I wouldn’t classify this dish as “easy” because you really need to get a feel for the individual ingredients. Just give it a try! A side dish for two. Goes very well with soba or beef, for example.
