Ingredients:
– 1 medium octopus (about 1-1.5 kg)
– 1 lemon (halved)
– 4 tablespoons olive oil
– 4 garlic cloves (finely chopped)
– 1 teaspoon paprika
– 1 teaspoon dried oregano
– 1 teaspoon salt
– 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
– Fresh herbs (parsley or cilantro) for garnish
Instructions:
1. **Prepare the Octopus:**
– If the octopus hasn’t been cleaned, remove the beak and eyes. Rinse the octopus thoroughly under cold water.
– Place the octopus in a large pot with water, bring to a boil, and simmer for about 40-45 minutes until tender. You can add the lemon halves to the water for extra flavor.
2. **Marinate:**
– After boiling, remove the octopus and let it cool slightly. Cut it into pieces about 5-7 cm (2-3 inches) long.
– In a large bowl, mix the olive oil, finely chopped garlic, paprika, oregano, salt, and black pepper. Add the octopus pieces to the marinade and mix well to coat each piece. Let it marinate for 30 minutes.
3. **Grill:**
– Preheat the grill to medium heat.
– Place the octopus pieces on the grill and cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side, until you get nice grill marks and the octopus becomes slightly crispy on the outside.
4. **Serve:**
– Remove the octopus from the grill and transfer to a serving platter.
– Drizzle with fresh lemon juice and garnish with fresh herbs.
– Serve hot, with additional lemon wedges and your favorite sides (such as grilled vegetables or a fresh salad).
