Halloween Cupcakes: The 3 Scariest Recipes

Spread the love

A Halloween party involves something sweet and something sour – for example, the sweet part of your buffet can consist of spooky Halloween cupcakes. You can find three recipes to try here.

It’s all in the hood: ideas for spooky Halloween cupcakes

What makes a Halloween cupcake special is the decorative hood and the muffin case. Not to be neglected, however, is the little cake itself.

  • First, bake muffins. You can use a basic recipe or prepare your favorite muffins.
  • So that these can now be processed into Halloween cupcakes, the right decoration is important. Black muffin cases, for example, are a good place to start.
  • The crowning glory of the cupcake, however, is the topping. This works best with a buttercream frosting.
  • For the frosting, put 125g of softened butter in a bowl and add either a packet of homemade vanilla sugar or a few drops of vanilla extract.
  • Now comes the Halloween refinement: With black, green, or red food coloring you breathe a little spooky into the cupcake.
  • Beat the butter with a hand mixer and gradually add about 250g of icing sugar until the frosting has a creamy consistency. If it’s still runny, you need more powdered sugar. To be on the safe side, you can chill it in the fridge for half an hour before pouring it onto the cupcakes.
  • Using a nozzle, pipe the colored buttercream frosting onto the cupcakes.
  • In many supermarkets, you can find sugar eyes or wafer bats to decorate the cupcakes with during Halloween time.

Vampire Cupcakes with Teeth

Bats and vampires are perfect for Halloween – but how do you make a cupcake with this theme? Here is a simple recipe to get vampire fangs cupcakes. You need matching vampire candy as teeth.

  1. First, bake a cupcake recipe of your choice. Chocolate or vanilla cakes are perfect. If you like something special, bake muffins with Pumpkin Spice to match the autumn season.
  2. Allow the cupcakes to cool well after baking.
  3. Then take a teaspoon and scoop a small hole in the center of the cupcake.
  4. Put a red jam or colored red buttercream in this hole.
  5. Then press the candy teeth into the cupcake so that it looks like it belongs to the spooky vampire cupcake.

Easiest Cupcake of All: Frosting Topping

Not before every Halloween party do you have the time and inclination to prepare an elaborate frosting that could melt? On the other hand, it is very easy to make your own icing.

  • Prepare your favorite muffins and wait until they are completely cool.
  • Take about 150 g of powdered sugar and put it in a small bowl.
  • Then add some spooky food coloring: green, red, or black, for example, work well.
  • Then add a few drops of water to the powdered sugar and stir.
  • Take just enough water to form a creamy mass. The thicker it is, the better the color on the Halloween cupcake comes into its own.
  • Using a spoon, spread the icing over the cupcakes.
  • You can now use a sugar stick or melted chocolate to paint spider webs, eyes, or bats on the cupcakes.
  • You can also mix frosting and icing and use the colored icing to paint veins of blood on a white hood, for example.
