Hash with lemons

Spread the love

Ingredients for 3 servings:

  • 500 g minced meat
  • 1 liter meat broth
  • 1 lemon(s)
  • some flour
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 1 large onion(s)
  • salt and pepper
  • Sugar

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 50 minutes

Finely dice the onion. Lightly sauté the onion pieces, add the minced meat, and cook (do not fry). Once the minced meat is cooked, dust it liberally with flour until a light white coating of flour forms on the meat. Now add the stock and bring to a boil. If the sauce isn’t thick enough, thicken it with flour or a sauce thickener. Add the bay leaves, four slices of lemon, and a little lemon zest. Bring everything to a boil again and let it simmer for five to ten minutes. Then remove the bay leaves, the lemon, and its zest. Season the sauce with salt, pepper, sugar, and a little more lemon juice, if desired. This goes best with pasta or mashed potatoes.
