Hearty minced meat pizza

Spread the love

Ingredients for 6 servings:

  • 1 kg minced beef
  • 700 g sauerkraut, fresh
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 stale bread roll or breadcrumbs
  • 2 cups sour cream
  • 200 g cooked ham
  • salt and pepper
  • possibly sweet paprika powder
  • e.g. bell pepper(s)
  • n. B. spring onion(s)

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

Pizza made from minced meat and sauerkraut

Squeeze the sauerkraut thoroughly until dry. Grate the bread roll and mix it with the eggs, seasonings to taste, and the ground meat (same mixture as for meatballs). Spread the meat mixture on an ungreased baking sheet. It’s not so important to press the mixture into every nook and cranny, as the pizza will shrink in the oven anyway. Spread the shredded sauerkraut on the ground meat base. Then pour the sour cream over the sauerkraut and spread it evenly. Finally, scatter the finely diced or chopped cooked ham on top. If desired, add finely chopped bell peppers or spring onions. Now place the ground meat pizza in the preheated oven at 180°C (350°F) for 30-40 minutes. White bread goes best with it. This dish, which can be prepared a few hours in advance and is also delicious cold or reheated the next day, is suitable both as a main course and as an appetizer—in which case, one baking sheet will naturally be enough for many more people.
