Ingredients for 2 servings:
- 200 g semolina (soft wheat)
- 800 ml milk
- 4 eggs
- 125 g bacon, diced
- 100 g cheese (e.g. Emmental), grated
- salt and pepper
- some butter
Instructions
Working time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes
Bring the milk to a boil with a little salt and remove from the heat. Then stir in the semolina and continue stirring for a while until the mixture has thickened somewhat. In the meantime, fry the bacon. Whisk the eggs and then fold them into the semolina porridge, along with the fried bacon. Season with salt and pepper if desired. Using a ladle, ladle the porridge into the hot pan and quickly spread it out to a thickness of about 1 cm. Once both sides are golden brown, the cakes are ready to enjoy. The cheese can be sprinkled on during cooking (just before the other side is cooked) or on the plate when serving. Onions would certainly go well with this recipe, but I didn’t have any at home. A delicious meal that’s quick to prepare.
