Hearty white cabbage stew with minced beef and vegetables

Ingredients for 6 servings:

  • 500 g minced beef
  • 1.2 kg white cabbage, cut into fine strips
  • 1 stalk(s) leek, cut into fine rings
  • 4 large potatoes, roughly diced
  • 4 carrots, sliced ​​or diced
  • 200 ml vegetable stock
  • 1 jar white wine
  • 4 tbsp tomato paste
  • 250 ml beef stock
  • 1 onion(s), finely diced
  • e.g. salt and pepper
  • 1 tbsp sweet paprika
  • 2 tbsp sunflower oil, for frying
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1 sprig(s) rosemary

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 45 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 15 minutes

Heat the oil in a large pot and fry the minced meat with the diced onion and leek rings. Then add the carrots and potatoes and stir everything through. Briefly fry the tomato paste, then add the cabbage and pour in the vegetable broth, white wine, and stock. Add the rosemary sprig and let everything simmer for a bit. Then give the pot a good stir, add the remaining spices, stir again, and simmer with the lid on for about 45 minutes over low heat, stirring occasionally. The cabbage should still have a bit of a bite. Season everything again at the end.
