Ingredients for 4 servings:
- 3 m.-large kohlrabi
- 1 tbsp herb butter
- ¼ liter of water
- 125 ml cream
- Sauce thickener
- 100 g ham (lean raw ham), diced
- ½ bunch parsley
- salt and pepper
- nutmeg
- 2 bags of mashed potato powder
Instructions
Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes
Peel the kohlrabi and cut into thin wedges. Sauté lightly in herb butter, season with salt. Add water and cream and simmer for about 10 minutes, until the kohlrabi is tender enough. Thicken with a sauce thickener and season with salt, pepper, and nutmeg. Stir in chopped parsley and diced ham. Prepare the mashed potatoes according to the package instructions and serve with the kohlrabi. If you have more time, homemade mashed potatoes are a better side dish. A great summer meal that kids will love, too.
