With only 33 kilocalories per 100 g of carrots, the root vegetable is very figure-friendly. In addition, carrots are rich in provitamin A and they provide relevant amounts of vitamins B1 and B6 as well as potassium and fiber. This way, you can get plenty of healthy nutrients without worrying about your weight.
However, keep in mind that your body can only use the fat-soluble provitamin A if you take the low-calorie carrots with some yogurt, butter, quark, or oil at the same time – for example as a dip or dressing. Then the number of calories increases, but you get even more nutrients. The good thing is that a small drop of oil is enough to keep the meal from becoming a high-calorie meal.
