A blunt knife not only makes it difficult to work in the kitchen, but it can also be dangerous. If such a knife slips out of your hands, it will always be sharp enough for your fingers.
Bottom of a cup or plate
Turn the porcelain utensil over and find a white, rough stripe on the bottom. It’s hard enough to sharpen your knife. Quickly run your knife over this strip several times, then rinse the knife with water.
Car Window
The knife can be sharpened against the edge of a half-opened car window. The edge of any unsharpened glass will also work – this is a great substitute for a sharpening stone. It is enough to run the knife over the edge of the window a few times. Don’t worry about scratches – there won’t be any on the glass.
Nail file
Place the file on a hard surface with the rough side up. Use one hand to hold the file and the other to run the blade of the nail file across the surface of the file. Repeat several times until the file is sharp enough.
Stone
You need a smooth and flat stone to sharpen your knife. Swipe the stone from the handle to the tip of the knife several times. You can also clamp the blade of the knife between two smooth stones and pull it out with force. After this procedure, the knife should be well-washed and wiped dry.
Another knife
Knives can be sharpened against each other. To do this, with a planning motion, run the blunt knife across the surface of the sharp knife. This method requires a lot of time and persistence.
