  • 1 tbsp oil (sesame oil)

Japanese steak rolls

Cut the steak into 16 strips (about 1 cm thick) and pound them to a thickness of 0.5 cm. Place one asparagus and one green onion on top of the meat and roll them over both. Hold them together with a wooden toothpick. Do the same with the remaining meat, asparagus, and green onions. Place them side by side on a baking sheet. Mix the remaining ingredients (rice wine, soy sauce, sugar, and sesame oil) and pour it over the steak rolls (for 30 minutes). Then grill everything for 5-7 minutes and place the rolls on a plate. Strain the marinade into a small saucepan and simmer for about 5-10 minutes, until the marinade thickens slightly. Spoon it over the rolls. Bell peppers, zucchini, or mushrooms can be used instead of the asparagus and green onions. It tastes good hot or cold. You can also cut the finished rolls into small pieces and serve with rice and Japanese cucumber salad.
