Juice currants with a juicer
With your own juicer, it is easy to juice currants.
- Wash the currants and put them in the juicer.
- If you’re using currants that aren’t fully ripe yet, you can add some sugar or syrup to round out the acidity.
- Currant juice turns brown quickly and should therefore be consumed quickly.
Juicing currants without a juicer
Although the easiest way to juice currants is with a juicer, don’t give up if you don’t have one.
- Currants are so soft that you can simply squeeze them in a cheesecloth to get the coveted juice.
- Wash the currants and place them on a cheesecloth or tea towel.
- Powdered sugar is recommended for this method, as granulated sugar does not dissolve too quickly and would remain in the cloth.
- Now squeeze the currant juice from the fruit through the cloth and enjoy it straight away.
