Ingredients for 6 servings:

  • 2 packs of puff pastry (rolls)
  • 500 g Leberkäse (red or white meat)
  • 250 g cheese, sliced ​​(e.g. Gouda)
  • 100g salami
  • 200 g ham, cooked
  • 3 bell peppers (red, yellow and green)
  • 150 g mushrooms, fresh
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • pepper
  • chili powder
  • Seasonal herbs (e.g. wild garlic, chives)
  • 1 piece(s) egg yolk
  • some cream

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 45 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 5 minutes

Press the two puff pastry rolls together along the long sides. Spread half of the meatloaf and top with the cheese. Then spread the other half of the meatloaf and top with salami and ham. Chop the bell peppers, mushrooms, and garlic clove. Briefly sauté in a little olive oil and place on the strudel. Sprinkle with herbs and spices. Unroll the strudel and place it on a baking sheet lined with baking paper. Mix the egg yolk with a little cream and brush it over the strudel. Bake the strudel in a preheated oven at 200°C for about 45 minutes.
