Lemonade with cucumber and basil

Ingredients for 8 servings:

  • 1 liter of water
  • 200 g sugar
  • 340 ml lemon juice, freshly squeezed
  • ½ cucumber(s)
  • 10 basil leaves

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Rest time approx. 2 hours; Cooking/baking time approx. 5 minutes; Total time approx. 2 hours 15 minutes

Sugar syrup: Combine 250 ml of water and sugar in a small saucepan, bring to a boil, and simmer for about 5 minutes until the sugar has dissolved. Remove the sugar syrup from the heat and let it cool to room temperature. Bottle the sugar syrup, remaining water, lemon juice, cucumber slices, and basil, stir, and let it steep in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours. Makes approximately 2 liters.
