Locomotive made of dominoes

Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 1 gingerbread, rectangular, approx. 6 x 9 cm
  • 3 pieces of confectionery (dominoes)
  • 3 pieces of licorice (cat paws)
  • 4 candies (Mentos), silver pearls
  • 1 piece(s) of fruit gum confectionery ‘Pico Balla’
  • powdered sugar
  • lemon juice
  • possibly desiccated coconut

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

A cute little gift – also great to make with kids!

First, make a firm icing from the powdered sugar. Place this in a freezer bag. If you cut off a tiny corner, it will be easier to measure. Glue two dominoes next to each other on the gingerbread. The third goes on the back domino. Then, along the entire length of the gingerbread, pipe icing tracks next to the dominoes. Attach the four Mentos to both sides with icing to form the “wheels,” and place the silver beads close together on the remaining “track.” Glue two cat paws on top of each other on the front domino to form the “chimney.” The third cat paw goes on the very back of the bottom domino as a “buffer.” Cut the Pico-Balla into two slices. Glue one slice to each of the top dominoes (“driver’s cab”) to form the window. Pipe a little more icing onto the “chimney” to form the “smoke.” If you like, you can also make a very thin layer of transparent icing, brush it over the entire train, and add a little snowflake to the coconut flakes. Wrap the train in cellophane wrap or small bags and decorate with ribbon.
