If you want to avoid cow’s milk, hemp milk is a good plant-based alternative. In this article, you can read how to make milk from hemp seeds yourself.
Recipe for homemade hemp milk
For one liter of hemp milk, you need 100 g of hemp seeds, a blender, a nut milk bag, or a strainer. You can add sugar or a sugar alternative if you wish.
- Put the hemp seeds in the blender and finely grind the seeds.
- Add 1/2 liter of water and blend for 2-3 minutes.
- Place mixture in nut milk bag. Hold the bag over a container and forcefully squeeze the liquid out of the seeds.
- Then pour the milk back into the blender. If you like it a little sweeter, add a teaspoon of sugar or an alternative sweetener. It is particularly healthy if you use 5 dates or a teaspoon of coconut blossom sugar.
- Add another 1/2 liter of water and mix the hemp milk for another 2-3 minutes.
- Pour the milk into a sterilized glass bottle and place it in the fridge. Your homemade hemp milk will keep there for about two days.
Continue using hemp seeds after milk production
Don’t throw away the cannabis seeds. These can be used in muesli or for baking. Or create a delicious hemp spread.

- Blend the ingredients until the desired consistency is reached.
- Keep the spread in the fridge and use it up within 3 days.
