- For curdling you will need four to five tablespoons of apple cider vinegar or alternatively the same amount of lemon juice.

- In addition to the ingredients, you should also have a tall container, a sieve, and a cloth to strain. A nut milk bag is ideal.
DIY Tofu: A Guide
Once you have the ingredients and supplies, you can get started and make your own tofu.
- First, add the salt and apple cider vinegar to the jar.
- Then add the soy milk and stir thoroughly. In order for the milk to curdle, the vinegar must be well distributed.
- Now let the mixture stand for about 20 minutes until the egg white and whey have completely separated.
- Tip: If you use warm soy milk, it goes faster.
- Place the straining cloth in the strainer and pour in the curdled milk. Tie the cloth together and squeeze out the contents as best as you can. Tip: Place the bag on a plate and use a heavy book.
- After about half an hour under the “book press,” the tofu should be sufficiently pressed.
- Your homemade tofu is ready and you can prepare it right away. If you want to keep it for a while, put it in a sealable glass with salt water.
