Make vegan butter yourself – that’s what you need
For about 150 grams of vegan butter you need the following ingredients:
- 50 ml vegan cow’s milk substitute, for example, oat, soy, or almond milk.
- 75 g coconut fat
- A tablespoon of canola oil
- Half a tablespoon of soy lecithin powder.
- The soy lecithin powder acts as an emulsifier, allowing the oil to bond with the aqueous milk substitute.
- Half a teaspoon of apple cider vinegar for flavor.
- Optionally add half a capsule of probiotic powder to the vegan butter. The powder gives a slightly sour butter taste.
- For the production you need a pot and a bowl for a water bath as well as a blender and molds in which the vegan butter can harden.
How to prepare the vegan butter
If you have all the ingredients and utensils together, you can get started.
- Melt the coconut oil in a water bath.
- In the meantime, mix the plant-based milk with apple cider vinegar. If the coconut fat is liquid, put it in a blender together with
- the milk-vinegar mixture, the rapeseed oil, and the soy lecithin powder.
- Now mix all the ingredients until the mass is homogeneous. Tip: It is better to mix short than once long. The mass must not heat up.
- The vegan butter is now ready. She just needs to harden. Fill them into the molds provided and place them in the freezer.
- After about an hour, the vegan butter is ready to move from the freezer to the fridge for storage.
- The butter will keep in the fridge for several weeks.
- Tip: If you add freshly chopped herbs to the ingredients mentioned, you have a vegan herb butter.
