Marinated Beetroot Thalers
The perfect marinated beetroot thalers recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.
- 1 whole Beetroot (beetroot) cooked
- 1 sake Star anise
- 100 ml Semi-Dry white wine
- 3 piece Juniper berries
- 10 ml Elderberry syrup
- 20 ml White balsamic vinegar
- 10 ml Lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon Cream of horseradish
- 1 teaspoon Sugar
- 1 pinch Salt
the beet
- Either buy beetroot that has already been cooked or boil the beetroot in a light vinegar sauce until soft – then let it cool down – now cut the beetroot into even slices (wear gloves!) – then use a circular cutter to shape the slices into the correct shape
The marinade
- Reduce the white wine with star anise and juniper berries (previously crush with the back of a knife) – add elderberry syrup, white balsamic vinegar (I use a very mild balsamic vinegar of 3%), lemon juice, cream horseradish, sugar and a pinch of salt to taste
completion
- then pour this marinade over the beets – close tightly and leave to marinate overnight
