Marinated tofu

Spread the love

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 500g tofu
  • 5 tbsp oil (sesame oil)
  • 5 tbsp balsamic vinegar
  • 5 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp sesame seeds (white)
  • 1 tbsp peanut butter (creamy)
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce
  • Coriander, ground to taste
  • Sambal Oelek (depending on the desired spiciness between 1 tsp and 1 tbsp)

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Rest time approx. 2 hours; Total time approx. 2 hours 15 minutes

Toast the sesame seeds in a dry pan, set aside, and let cool (if you stir them into the marinade while they’re still hot, they’ll splatter). Mix all the other ingredients together thoroughly. Cut the tofu into slices of about 1 cm and place them in the marinade. Leave to marinate for at least two hours and no more than two days. It tastes delicious grilled tofu on a summer barbecue, but it also works very well in a pan. If you like, you can also stir the tofu into a stir-fry dish and use the marinade as a seasoning.
