Spread the love

Ingredients for 6 servings:

  • ½ pack of filo pastry, approx. 470 g
  • 4 apples
  • 2 tbsp raisins
  • 4 tbsp butter
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • e.g. powdered sugar

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 40 minutes

Preheat the oven to 175°C (top/bottom heat). Warm the filo dough to room temperature, then spread it out on a damp cloth. Peel and core the apples, and cut them into small pieces. Heat 2 tablespoons of butter in a pan and fry the apple pieces, cinnamon, and sugar for about 10 minutes. Then stir in the raisins. Melt the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter in another bowl. Cut the filo dough into equal-sized rectangles. Spread the apple mixture on the narrow side of a rectangle, leaving a small edge free. Brush the edges with a little butter and fold inward. Roll up the dough from the filling side. Repeat this process with the remaining apple mixture and filo dough. Brush the mini apple strudels with butter and bake in the hot oven for about 20 minutes. Let the mini strudels cool briefly and sprinkle with powdered sugar. Serve with vanilla ice cream and whipped cream.
