At around 8 to 12 cm long, the mini banana, which is mainly available on African markets, is slightly smaller than the conventional fruit banana. Just like her, the skin first turns from green to golden yellow.
Origin
Ecuador, Costa Rica.
Taste
The soft, light-colored flesh is not quite as sweet to taste compared to the very similar looking baby banana.
Use
Mini bananas can be used like regular bananas. You are e.g. B. when eaten raw without shell an ideal snack. Mini bananas are also suitable as a dessert, for salads, or for hot meals.
Storage
Mini bananas can be kept at room temperature for about a week. Mini bananas should not be stored in the refrigerator, as the aroma will be adversely affected and the skin will turn black.
