Mushroom cream sauce with rice

Ingredients for 3 servings:

  • 250 g mushrooms
  • 1 onion(s)
  • 1 garlic clove(s)
  • 1 cup of cream (200 ml)
  • 1 cup of cream cheese spread (approx. 150 – 200 g)
  • 1 cup of rice (200 – 250 ml)
  • 2 cups water
  • some salt and pepper
  • some nutmeg
  • possibly chili
  • some oil

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 35 minutes

Cook the rice with the water and a little salt. The rice will absorb all of the water. In the meantime, dice the onions and finely chop the garlic. Wash and quarter the mushrooms. Briefly sauté the onions in a pan with a little oil. Then add the mushrooms and fry until almost cooked. Then add the cream and cream cheese, and add the garlic. Season everything with salt, pepper, and nutmeg. If you like, you can also add a little chili. Let the cream sauce simmer until the rice is done. Serve the rice with the sauce. If you like, you can also sprinkle some parsley and chives on top.
