Nutritionist Names Dangerous Foods that Should not be Bought in the Supermarket

What products should never be bought in supermarkets and stores? Nutritionist Olena Solomatina told us what foods are dangerous to buy in a supermarket under any pretext. She notes that few people think about the quality of popular foods.

Minced meat. According to nutritionist Olena Solomatina, many unscrupulous manufacturers like to add old or spoiled meat to minced meat, as well as large amounts of fat, skin, and bones. Therefore, it is best to buy fresh meat on the market and make your own delicious minced meat from it, the composition of which you will be 100 percent sure.

Candy by weight. The thing is that candy has a relatively short shelf life. And large deliveries of sweets cannot always be realized on time. Sellers interrupt the dates on the price tags.

Grated cheese. According to the nutritionist, some of this cheese does not correspond to the company stated on the package. In addition, in some types of cheese, such as Parmesan, manufacturers can safely add cellulose to increase the volume and avoid the formation of lumps inside the pack.

Frozen foods. Often, there is too much ice in packages of frozen food, and when defrosting, a person receives a completely different product in terms of volume. This is especially true for shrimp, squid, fish, frozen vegetables, and berries. In addition, during shock freezing and defrosting, vegetables and berries lose a significant portion of their beneficial properties. It is cheaper to buy in the summer and freeze it at home.

Grilled chicken. This chicken is often made from meat that could not be sold. It is soaked in a marinade for several days and then fried until crispy. It often happens that hot grilled chicken is sold out quickly, and late buyers get stale goods.

Pasta and cereals by weight. As a rule, such containers of pasta and cereals do not have an expiration date on them. Food moths or beetles can get into them.

Ready-made salads. It is good if the salads were prepared 5-15 minutes before your arrival. But, most often, they spend the whole day in containers. In addition, cheap and low-quality mayonnaise is often used to prepare such salads, and sometimes other unfit-for-consumption products.

Nuts. The shelf life of nuts is quite long, so the degree of their freshness is questionable. Over time, nuts form a toxic substance called aflatoxin, which can harm the body. You should be especially careful when choosing walnuts.
