Oat patties from the oven

Spread the love

Ingredients for 8 servings:

  • 325 g oat flakes, gluten-free
  • 325 ml milk, lactose-free
  • 250 g Gouda, grated, young
  • 2 tbsp, sautéed chia seeds
  • 6 tbsp water
  • 6 tsp, heaped onion(s), roasted, gluten-free
  • salt and pepper
  • Paprika powder, sweet

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Rest time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour

vegetarian, gluten-free, low histamine, egg-free, lactose-free

Briefly soak the chia seeds in water until a jelly forms. This serves as an egg substitute. In the meantime, combine the oats with the milk, add the cheese, fried onions, and chia jelly, and mix well. Let it sit briefly. Then add the spices (I used salt, pepper, sweet paprika, and marjoram) and knead again. With wet hands, form 8 patties (each weighing about 125 g) and place them on a baking sheet lined with baking paper. Brush the patties with a little oil on both sides. Bake in a preheated oven at 200°C for about 15 minutes, then turn and bake for another 5-10 minutes (depending on the degree of browning). Please note that many people with celiac disease cannot tolerate gluten-free oats and gluten-free wheat starch and should be avoided completely at the beginning of a newly diagnosed celiac disease.
