Spread the love

Ingredients for 6 servings:

  • 250 g oat flakes
  • 1 piece(s) butter or margarine
  • 625 g plums
  • 3 m.-sized eggs
  • 250 ml cream
  • 3 tbsp white sugar
  • 1 packet of vanilla sugar
  • 2 tbsp hazelnuts, chopped

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 1 hour 5 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 35 minutes

prepared in a clay pot

Melt the butter or margarine in a pan and toast the oats until golden brown. Immediately transfer the oats to a bowl. In the meantime, wash the plums, drain well, halve them, and remove the stones. Place half of the toasted oats into a well-watered earthenware pot. Scatter the plums over the oats and cover with the remaining oats. Whisk the eggs and cream well, stir in 2 tablespoons of sugar and the vanilla sugar. Then pour the mixture evenly over the contents of the clay dish. Finally, sprinkle with the remaining sugar and the chopped hazelnuts. Close the clay dish and place it on the rack in a cold oven. Bake for 60 minutes at 220°C (top/bottom heat). This oatmeal bake tastes particularly good as a dessert with well-chilled vanilla sauce.
