You can combine oatmeal with various fruits and berries, but in the fall, the expert recommends adding a seasonal vegetable to the porridge – pumpkin. It will be tasty and healthy.

Oatmeal is one of the most popular breakfasts in the world. Some people like it is salty, others like it sweet. But even the tastiest and healthiest breakfast can get boring over time if you don’t add variety to your diet.

Nutritionist Svetlana Fus shared on Facebook what to combine oatmeal with the fall. The expert advises trying cooking this porridge with pumpkin, especially since it is the season of this vegetable.

According to her, oatmeal with pumpkin is quick to prepare, and the result is a delicious and very healthy breakfast.

Oatmeal with pumpkin – benefits

This porridge will be useful for people with diseases of the digestive and cardiovascular systems, as well as with deteriorating visual acuity.

Oatmeal with pumpkin is suitable as a breakfast or a second breakfast option. It contains a lot of dietary fiber, vitamins, and minerals.

“You can also pour natural yogurt or kefir over the porridge in the evening, and add nuts and dried fruit in the morning. You can take such a snack with you to work, it will be satisfying, and yogurt or kefir will help you digest oatmeal better. Add nuts and dried fruits to the cooked oatmeal a little at a time – they are very high in calories. In summer, replace dried fruits with fresh fruits and berries,” the nutritionist advised.

Fuss recommends using cinnamon as an additive to porridge. “A spoonful of this spice will completely change the taste of your dish. It’s delicious to serve oatmeal with a baked apple and cinnamon,” the expert said.
