Onionsoup

The perfect onionsoup recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 500 g Onions
  • 1 Clove of garlic
  • 0,5 tsp Brown sugar
  • 1 L Vegetable broth
  • 4 Discs Whole grain bread
  • 30 g Parmesan
  • Salt, pepper, parsley
  1. Cut the onions into rings.
  2. Gently heat the oil in a large pan and add the onions. Stew on moderate heat and without a lid for about 40 minutes.
  3. Add the garlic and sugar and cook for five minutes.
  4. Deglaze with the previously warmed vegetable stock and simmer for about 30 minutes.
  5. At the end of the cooking time, season with pepper, salt and parsley.
  6. Put a slice of bread in each plate and sprinkle the previously grated Parmesan on top.
  7. Pour the soup over the bread.
