Orange Chocolate Cake
The perfect orange chocolate cake recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.
- 250 g Butter or margarine
- 200 g Sugar
- 4 Eggs
- 2 Squeeze orange juice
- 1 Lemon zest – I’ll take finesse
- 200 g Flour
- 0,5 packet Baking powder
- 50 g Powdered sugar
- 1 Dark chocolate icing
- 100 g Chocolate chips
- 1 pinch Salt
- Stir the butter until foamy, gradually add sugar, eggs, lemon zest and salt. Mix flour with baking powder, add the chocolate flakes and mix everything into a smooth batter.
- Fill into a springform pan lined with baking paper (it is best to grease baking paper and sprinkle with breadcrumbs). Bake at 160 ° for about 40 minutes.
- In the meantime, squeeze the oranges and mix the juice with the powdered sugar.
- As soon as the cake is ready, take it out of the oven and poke a lot of holes (don’t forget the edge) with a thick wooden skewer, do not pierce the bottom.
- Now distribute the mixed orange juice well over all the holes so that it can soak in.
- When the cake has cooled down, coat the sides with the chocolate icing too.
- It tastes best if it is pulled through (for example overnight)
