Orange Chocolate Cake

The perfect orange chocolate cake recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 250 g Butter or margarine
  • 200 g Sugar
  • 4 Eggs
  • 2 Squeeze orange juice
  • 1 Lemon zest – I’ll take finesse
  • 200 g Flour
  • 0,5 packet Baking powder
  • 50 g Powdered sugar
  • 1 Dark chocolate icing
  • 100 g Chocolate chips
  • 1 pinch Salt
  1. Stir the butter until foamy, gradually add sugar, eggs, lemon zest and salt. Mix flour with baking powder, add the chocolate flakes and mix everything into a smooth batter.
  2. Fill into a springform pan lined with baking paper (it is best to grease baking paper and sprinkle with breadcrumbs). Bake at 160 ° for about 40 minutes.
  3. In the meantime, squeeze the oranges and mix the juice with the powdered sugar.
  4. As soon as the cake is ready, take it out of the oven and poke a lot of holes (don’t forget the edge) with a thick wooden skewer, do not pierce the bottom.
  5. Now distribute the mixed orange juice well over all the holes so that it can soak in.
  6. When the cake has cooled down, coat the sides with the chocolate icing too.
  7. It tastes best if it is pulled through (for example overnight)
